ABOUT DVG EQUESTRIAN
DVG Vision: Empowerment for the horse, their rider and the larger equestrian community.
OUR IDEALS
-
With an adaptive approach, prioritizing and balancing the needs of the horse and the mentorship for the rider.
-
Building a healthy community within the barn and beyond.
-
Prioritizing equity and accessibility.
The DVG Youth Equine Program provides a safe and empowering community space where youth can access the healing abilities of the equestrian environment, connect with each other and the horses and grow their skills as riders.
Horses have long been known to provide healing support for us humans. Additionally, the barn environment provides opportunities to learn many skills, such as critical thinking, empathy, and all the practical skills that come from caring for a farm. To top it off, this is a sport. The healthy competition of the activity provides opportunities to work with a team, achieve goals, and feel empowered.

BO DEL VALLE GARCIA
Head Coach
I am an Equine Canada registered coach with a lifetime of experience. Growing up in the equestrian capital of Langley, BC as a second generation equestrian coach, I was able to find mentorship in some of the top riders. As a teenager I came to specialize in starting young horses and competing in hunter/jumper competitions throughout the West Coast. Shortly after I found my passion for coaching.
I always foster a sense of confidence and connection between riders and their horses. I prize the sense of community that you can find in the barn and I work hard to build a supportive team. I have taught all ages and all abilities from tots to higher level “A” circuit riders and I love helping riders find their new horse.
I come with a decade of experience working in the social justice world, and am excited to bring that to the Equestrian Sport!
To Contact
DVG Equestrian Humbly acknowledges that our work happens on the unceded and occupied territories of the K'omoks and Kwakwaka'wakw peoples and many other territories on Turtle Island. I gratefully thank the generations of Indigenous peoples for passing along a wealth of experience in riding and caring for horses.
